Edmonton Events International  Lindsay Harrison, Dr. Bob Steadward and Leanne Smoliak and Jenn Bundred of Northlands hosted Provincial sport clients to the 2009 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings and a tour of the new Edmonton EXPO Centre. Special Olympics Edmonton and EEI were not successful in our bid to host the 2012 Special Olympics National Winter Games. The 2012 Games were awarded to St. Albert, however, due to the strength of our bid there is a strong possibility we will be hosting the Provincial Games in 2011. EEI has recently confirmed the following events for 2010: Junior Tennis Nationals, Western Fencing Championships, and the Canadian Adult Recreational Hockey Association Prairie Cup. EEI and the City of Edmonton have teamed up to attend and sponsor the 2010 Sportaccord Congress in Dubai in April. This conference will provide us with the opportunity to network with international sport federation representatives and to generate major sport leads.
