Travel Media
Media Visits Throughout March and April, in partnership with Travel Alberta, Edmonton Tourism welcomed to the Edmonton region over 10 journalists representing more than 10 print and online media outlets from Australia, Germany, the UK, the US and Canada. Watch for upcoming coverage in Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Berliner Zeitung, D Magazine, La Presse, TalkTalk.co.uk, Perthnow.com, and others.
Media Marketplace Meeting with over 40 journalists and broadcasters from the US, and some from Canada, Edmonton Tourism held two sets of one-on-one appointments at Canada Media Marketplace in San Francisco, April 12 – 14, 2010. This year, Edmonton Tourism partnered with Tourism Calgary on one of eight tables at Epicurean Canada: an evening reception highlighting cuisine from across Canada. Chef Brad Lazarenko (Culina Mill Creek, Edmonton) and Chef Hayato Okamitsu (Catch, Calgary) were there to serve over 225 media and 165 industry delegates a taste of regional cuisine from Alberta’s two major metropolitan centres.
Next Media Marketplace Edmonton Tourism will again be sending two representatives to GoMedia Marketplace in Toronto, August 22 - 26, 2010. They will hold two sets of one-on-one appointments with international and Canadian media. For more information about this event, please visit http://www.media.gomediacanada.com.  Information Support Edmonton Tourism continues to send out bi-monthly updates and story seeding to our travel media database, as well as Travel Alberta and CTC media relations teams. A festival city e-newsletter is sent out monthly to many of these same contacts. Throughout March and April, Edmonton Tourism received several information and image requests from media outlets including enRoute, Examiner, Corporate Meetings & Events, Sports Travel News, and Canwest newspapers. What’s New As always, travel media are interested in what’s new. Whenever possible, we would like to hear from you on upcoming events and new product. We are happy to assist in communicating your news to media by sending out your press releases or adding the information to the Travel Media What’s New section of Edmonton.com.
