TDR Working in Partnership

A Year in Review - 2009

The Edmonton & Area TDR has once again completed another successful year!!! With the tourism industry working together to create a fully integrated marketing plan for the region through an industry committee structure, the TDR supports their plan. Edmonton has set the example for effective partnering with all stakeholders and recognizes the importance of a coordinated effort to create awareness of Edmonton. With a budget of $1.5 million from the Travel Alberta Corporation, we continued to stimulate tourism by leveraging industry investment to increase overall marketing.

The TDR’s primary role is to support Industry driven Cooperative Marketing Programs. The Edmonton Industry continues to take advantage of the funding available to enhance their product through cooperative marketing programs and the Edmonton region as a “Must See” and “Destination of Choice.”

Budget Expenditures

TDR Investment 2009/2010 2008/09

Industry consortia came to the table with 1.29 to 1 compared to 1.25:1 in 2008. The total projects that met or exceeded expectation was 98%.

The Edmonton TDR has funding available for cooperative marketing projects. Now is the time for industry partnerships and consortiums with new or enhanced marketing ideas to submit proposals for TDR financial support. The key criteria for support from the TDR are the marketing programs met the cooperative marketing guidelines and the consortium consists of 3 or more partners.
