International Leisure Corroboree – CTC Australia Showcase & Canada Calls New Zealand – January 20-February 5, 2010 Natacha Fudem from Edmonton Tourism travelled to New Zealand and Australia and presented to over 425 travel agents selling Canada product in New Zealand and 842 agents in 5 cities around Australia. This road show also included a tradeshow component giving agents time to discuss itineraries and packages. The road show of Australia included the cities of Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Sydney. Additionally, Natacha presented at two media luncheon events of 50 media in Melbourne and 70 media in Sydney. The event also included one full day of B2B scheduled meetings where Natacha had the opportunity to promote Edmonton product to 27 key wholesalers and tour operators.
UK VIP – Olympic FAM – February 17-18, 2010 Edmonton Tourism and Travel Alberta extended an invitation to key product and executive managers from UK tour operators to fly into Edmonton, transfer to Jasper and fly into Vancouver for the Olympic games. Natacha Fudem organized the FAM tour in the spirit of the Olympic games. The FAM was a great success and encompassed key Edmonton attractions, introduction and presentation by one of our Edmonton based Olympian Lori-Ann Muenzer. We provided them with not only a great experience in Edmonton but knowledge on our city’s champions and ambassadors in both Olympic sport and competitve games. We in turn were able to create ideas on how they could build packages around Edmonton in both sport and leisure product.
Edmonton Airports Announces Air Transat’s non-stop scheduled service to Frankfurt – February 22, 2010 Edmonton International Airport (EIA) and Air Transat are pleased to welcome the return of non-stop seasonal service to Frankfurt. Service to the international hub of Frankfurt runs from June 15 to September 28, 2010, with departures from Edmonton every Tuesday and a return flight every Wednesday.
