Tourism is Alberta's fourth largest industry and it is estimated that there are currently 150,000 full-time, part-time and seasonal jobs in this industry.
This is a very positive position for the industry. The benefits generated by the industry have been traditionally accrued by locations on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains, and by the major cities of Alberta. Few of these benefits have been realized by the rural communities that populate the rest of Alberta - until now!
What are the benefits in attending the conference?
- Rural communities in Alberta can look at tourism as a viable industry to diversify their local economies.
- It brings together groups who have embraced innovative Tourism strategies and partnerships.
- How you can bring new sources of revenue and employment to your community.
- Renowned Rural Tourism experts and participants from a broad cross-section share successes, challenges, and ideas for future growth.
- It is a powerful tool in initiating strategic tourism planning.
This year’s conference guarantees take-home information that you will find both valuable and applicable to your own rural tourism initiatives.
