Travel Media
Media Visits

Edmonton Tourism welcomed celebrities Claudia Alvarez, Dominika Paleta, and Fabián Ibarra from Mexico to the Edmonton region in April to experience our destination. They were accompanied by media from Reforma and Caras, who were covering the celebrities’ trip for the newspaper and magazine, respectively. The group visited the Downtown Arts District, Old Strathcona, and West Edmonton Mall for a swim with the sea lions.
Information/Image Support

Edmonton Tourism responded to over 12 information, image, and video requests from media. Watch for coverage in Group Tour Magazine, Western Living, Canadian House & Home, Budget Travel, Association News, and RVwest.
Edmonton Tourism also sent out over 12 press releases and targeted story pitches. Thank you to all partners who are keeping us up-to-date with your product offerings.
Media Marketplace
For the first time at Canada Media Marketplace, Edmonton Tourism sent two representatives to hold two sets of one-on-one appointments with travel media from the USA. Edmonton Tourism met with publishers, broadcasters, writers, and photographers. The conference and marketplace was held April 20 – 22 in New York City.
In support of the marketplace becoming a “green,” sustainable event, Edmonton Tourism continued practices of reusing table top décor, sending all follow-up electronically, and providing all media kits on reusable USB flash drives. This year, Edmonton Tourism offered eco-friendly giveaways for the media delegates: conifer tree seedlings (packaged in a bio-degradable bag).
What’s New
As always, travel media are interested in what’s new. Whenever possible, we would like to hear from you on upcoming events and new product. We are happy to assist in communicating your news to media by sending out your press releases or adding the information to the Travel Media What’s New section of Edmonton.com.
