EPCOR presents Nextfest 2009 June 11-21 Edmonton's multidisciplinary arts festival dedicated to the cultivation and professional development of the emerging artist with over eighty performances in multiple venues throughout the Edmonton downtown area. 2009 RLSS Commonwealth Lifesaving Championships June 12-14 Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) Canada will host the top athletes from the Royal Life Saving Society's Commonwealth nations as they come together in Edmonton, Alberta to race for lifesaving supremacy. ICLEI World Congress 2009 International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives June 14-18 ICLEI provides technical consulting, training, and information services to build capacity, share knowledge, and support local government in the implementation of sustainable development at the local level. Our basic premise is that locally designed initiatives can provide an effective and cost-efficient way to achieve local, national, and global sustainability objectives. The Works Art and Design Festival June 19 – July 1 The Works Art & Design Festival attracts artists and patrons from around the world, boosting the energy and imagination of Downtown Edmonton at the start of every summer offering over 200 exciting exhibits and special events to the public. Edmonton International Jazz Festival June 25 – July 5 Top jazzers and performers from around the globe get together and get cookin’ with some jazzy jams.
