February 10- 13, 2009 saw Glenn Duncan leading a team of 7 local partners into Ottawa for this annual premier trade show. Always a sold out event, Edmonton Tourism, along with Northlands, Sutton Place, Westin Edmonton, Shaw Conference Centre, Fantasyland, Matrix and Delta Centre Suites connected with over 100 key planners and procured 5 firm leads for our city. Glenn also participated in sales calls, a Travel Alberta client reception and the MPI Industry event. |

The annual Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) Destinations Showcase event in Washington, DC was attended by Glenn Duncan along with the Gateway Cities partners: Shaw Conference Centre, TELUS Calgary Convention Centre, Tourism Calgary and Travel Alberta. Along with the showcase Glenn attended networking events and made sales calls to select customers during this busy week of February 23- 27 in the U.S. capital. |
Crystal DeCosta joined forces with Deborah J Drisdale of Travel Alberta on March 30 – April 1 to host 11 clients for dinner and an evening with Billy Joel and Elton John. Crystal followed this up with Sales Calls in Southern California and produced several strong leads for our area. Feedback from clients was exceptional and we look forward to continuing our efforts in this market.
Our Summer Solstice Familiarization tour on June 17 – 20 is now full steam ahead as is our 2009 REXALL Indy Familiarization tour for July. Please also keep in mind the planning for our MOTTO sales mission in November will also begin shortly. These initiatives offer an excellent opportunity for partners to meet key association, government and corporate meeting planners. We hope to see you involved.
