Curtis "The Pup" Blanchette - Past and Present

Many of the racing teams in the Legends racing series are father and son or family racing teams. It seems as though we have all watched Curtis grow up at the track and have been a part of his progression from helping Dad to getting into the car for a few practice laps and a school to having his own race car and moving up the grid in the Semi-Pro Class.

Rick "Trick" Blanchette has been a regular in the series for many years, progressing from Semi-Pro to Pro then onto Masters.

This past weekend in Saskatoon was a culmination of all of the years of racing as both father and son won their heat races and their main events. We don't think that has ever happened before but given how they have both been driving lately it won't be the last time it will happen.

Well Done!

New Racer Aaron Freind Wins Heat Race!

Aaron Freind made his Legend racing debut in the #55 Legend racecar July 8th in Wetaskiwin. And in his 1st race Aaron won the Trophy dash against fellow B-Main racers. To say Aaron & his dad Collin were Happy was an understatement.

Arron and his Dad Collin will share driving duties in 2006.

Good Luck and have Fun Guys!

Bits from the Pits

Sean McPhail from Swift Current Saskatchewan took delivery of a 1934 Ford Coupe Legend racecar on Friday July 28th, and Sean made his racing debut in the # 48 Legend racecar the next day in Saskatoon.

Look for Sean to do most of the remaining races in 2006

Word is a couple other racers from Swift Current, have more than a passing interest in the Legend racecar.

Grant MacDonald who owns the # 89 Parkland Agri Services/Dekalb/Roundup/Poplar Wood Farms legend racecar, had his Legend racecar on display at the Parkland Agri Services Racing School.

Parkland Agri Services, Dekalb & Roundup had a Customer Appreciation Day, and by the smiles on everyone's faces it was a Terrific day.

Legend Cars of Alberta took their Legends racing School on the road to Edmonton, and Jeff Hollinshead son of # 99 Tom Hollinshead & Amber Overholt daughter of # 76 Tom Overholt were participants in the School.

Tom Overholt made a surprise visit and it was Great to see him moving around as well as he is.

#76 Tom Overholt was seen huddled with Wayne Miller from Legends and the rumour is Tom will either have Legends rebuild his racecar similar to Grant Beck. Or will order a brand new one.

Stay tuned !!!!!!!!!!!!

MyLaps.com

For those of you that don't know about MyLaps.com it is well worth taking a look at. We are very fortunate to have such a good group of people looking after our timing system and having them take the time to upload all of the transponder data to this website.

You need your transponder number to create a user account. Once you have your account, username and password you will have access to all of your timing data for the race day. You can also compare it to other cars so you can see how your competition is doing as well.

This is another great way to get more value out of the money you spent on the transponder and timing fees.
