Drifting Practices Return to Castrol Raceway

Spec-D is the new era of drifting in the greater Edmonton area. Working with Rev Drift we are featuring practices to fine tune driver's skills and special one on one sessions for the less experienced. New drivers are always welcome and encouraged to learn how to perform to the best of their abilities on the track. The main goal of Spec-D is to promote Drifting and to get racers/drifters off the streets. As well, there are many places for spectators to witness the event and meet the drivers; For only $10 you get an all access pass.

Car and Driver - $35, Gates open at 5:30pm and last run is at about 10:00pm (light dependent). Practices run every second Thursday (weather dependent).

The first 2008 Spec-D Drifting practices will be the following dates: May 15 or 29 (weather/facility depending), hope to see you out there!

Rich Christensen is coming to Castrol Raceway!

Castrol Raceway is excited to announce that Rich Christensen’s ArmDrop Live is coming to the ¼ mile!  On May 30 & 31, this new series will be rolling into Edmonton to see who has what it takes to win the grand prize of $10,000.00!

Here is how this new event works. May 30 will have all competitors time trialing to see who will qualify for the eliminations on May 31. On May 31, 256 vehicles start out in 2 classes (broken out by ET’s). And by vehicles we mean cars, bikes, karts, snowmobiles, etc. Every vehicle in the competition is quicker than a pre-determined time. As you are staged, but before Rich drops his arms, he shows, “the DEATH CARD.” On it is an ET that he knows you can hit.

You are racing against your opponent. The first racer to get to the finish line WITHOUT going faster than the time Rich flashed on “the DEATH CARD” moves on, the other goes home.

Sounds easy right? See if you have what it takes to win the ArmDrop Live! Registration is available online, and you MUST registration in advance. Simply click the Buy Tickets Online button and choose the ArmDrop Live Competitor Registration. You must run 11.50 and quicker.

Spectator’s can purchase tickets online by simply visiting the Buy Tickets Online button at www.castrolraceway.com.

For more information about Rich Christensen’s ArmDrop Live, visit their website at www.armdroplive.com.
