Business Management Certificate qualifies for Blue Seal Certification

Earn Blue Seal Certification the practical way through Business Management Certificate Program (BMCP) Weekend College modules. Successfully complete any ten of twenty different modules offered and you will receive NAIT's Business Management Certificate. Instruction will emphasize the practical aspects of solving typical business problems by the study and application of current business practices. Each module is priced at $235, and the spring schedule runs as follows:

  • Marketing of Service and Customer Service - February 11 - 13
  • Employee and Labour Relations - February 25 - 27
  • Introduction to Computers in Business - March 4 - 6
  • Advertising and Promotion - March 18 - 20
  • Introduction to Payroll Processing - April 1 - 3
  • Accounting - Bookkeeping Principles - April 8 - 10
  • Preparing a Business Plan - April 22 - 24
  • Personal Finance Principles - April 29 - May 1
  • Direct Marketing / Internet Applications for Business - May 6 - 8
  • Preparing a Business Plan - May 13 - 15

  • Leadership Institute for Young Women mentored by industry experts

    Young women in the workplace can now receive training to develop the qualities and skills needed to lead the way, such as: accountability, goal-setting, teamwork, communications and problem-solving. Program facilitators are industry experts; as well, a team of professional women has volunteered to work as mentors with each participant throughout the program.
    Upon completion of all modules in each level, you will receive a NAIT certificate. Here's what's coming up in the next few months:

    • Thought Patterns for High Performance (compulsory module)
      This 2-day workshop provides the tools and techniques to change the way you think, the ability to eliminate the stress of change, and the ability to self-regulate to higher levels of excellence.
      February 22 & 25 - 2 days - $400
    • Core Skills for Interaction (compulsory module)
      This 1.5 day workshop helps individuals assess their evolving roles and learn to build involvement through the use of feedback and effective interaction skills.
      March 22 & 23 - 1.5 days - $350
    • Professional Image & Business Dining Etiquette
      This 1-day interactive workshop provides the practical tools to gauge your image impact, understand the power of image, and learn the mechanics of first impressions. As well, you will learn the North American and Continental styles of eating. Best practices for hosts and guests will be demonstrated. Participants will then apply these techniques while dining in Ernest's (NAIT's Dining Room).
      April 19 - 1 day - $200
    • Integrity and Ethical Behaviour
      This 1-day workshop teaches the fundamentals of ethics in the workplace, some of which include your ethical responsibilities at work, personal character and integrity, fundamentals of respect, and ethical decision-making models for success, and situational and not-so-situational ethics.
      May 17 - 1 day - $300

    • Parts Technician - 14 weeks - Days
      January 31 to May 6 - $2,900
    • Welded Metal Fabrication - 16 weeks - Days
      January 31 to May 20 - $4,500
    • CNC Machinist Operator - 20 weeks - Days
      February 28 to July 15 - $4,000
    • Roadbuilding and Heavy Construction - 10 weeks - Evenings
      February 14 to April 29 - $1,500
