NAIT and SNR Charitable Trust
to build world class training facility in India
NAIT and SNR Charitable Trust of India recently
signed an agreement to establish the Sri Ramakrishna Advanced Training Institute
(SRATI) in Coimbatore, India. NAIT’s role is to design and deliver practical
training to meet industry expectations for a qualified skilled workforce. The
new institute will provide world-class training in practical skills to meet
industry needs in India and across the globe.
Situated in Coimbatore, India, SRATI, one of 14 schools supported by this
Charitable Trust, will support regional industries through the NAIT partnership
to develop skilled workers in the trades of welding, plumbing and pipe-fitting
as well as in IT training. The region is economically expanding and provides
manufacturing and construction opportunities to local population. There is a
recognized need to raise the level of trades people in and increase workforce
productivity throughout India.
The SNR/NAIT partnership will develop
internationally recognized hands-on technical and trade education for SRATI and
set new program standards to support local industries. Faculty development,
student exchanges, and placement locally in India and around the world are
included in the plan.
NAIT and SRATI are working with local industry to assure that the training
matches current industry requirements India and global markets.
For the students in India, the training will
provide knowledge, attitude and practical competency-based programs. They’ll
gain the advantage of marketable skills and globally-recognized proficiency upon
graduation.
NAIT currently has overseas offices in Abu Dhabi,
Beijing, and Baroda-India, and has provided training in more than 60 countries
world-wide. NAIT’s expertise in institution building extends to Egypt, Thailand,
Argentina, Pakistan, UAE, and Cuba, to name a few.
