Here
is Legends Cars of Alberta’s 2008 Tipsters Picks
Legends Pro Division
| #17 Ira Laughy –
The 2007 Pro Champion was
the car to beat in 2007, can he repeat in 2008? |
 |
#12 Rick Blanchette – If Rick
takes 2008 seriously, everybody needs to watch out. |
 |
| #42 Hugh Williamson –
Hugh is a threat to win every weekend, he has lots of HP, just needs more seat time.
There are only a few that can keep up with him at Race City. |
 |
#15 Dave McKean - 2007 was
a learning
year in Pro for Dave, he has a new car, same crew chief, this could be a team to watch. |
 |
| #29 Aaron Friend –
Aaron was
the Hottest Semi Pro in the last half of 2007, should continue in 2008 as a
first year Pro. Aaron has a new as well. |
 |
#45 Jarrod Schaufert – Swifty’s
Low Qualifier Champion in 2007, he just needs to lose the first or
last jinx and make the most of a fast car and great driving. |
 |
| #14 Curtis Blanchette
– Unstoppable in 2007 in Semi-Pro, maturity should make him better in 2008
as a first year Pro. Curtis had fast time overall a few times last
year. |
 |
#22 Rick Walls - Former Semi-Pro
champ and a longtime Pro, Rick can run with the
fast guys, still needs to get back to where he was with his old car. |
 |
| #4 Larry Carlson -
Larry s another former Semi-Pro champ, has
Williamson power, good driver, needs to do all the races and he will be
up front as usual. |
 |
#57 Shawn Holland - The first
race of 2007 Shawn was low qualifier and the Pro winner in the
A-Main, after that work interfered with racing. Shawn vows that he
will be a contender in 2008. |
 |
Tipsters Pro Pick - #45 - Jarrod Shaufert
Others to watch #18 Kevin Kemna, and three former Pro Champs, Dave Kindopp, Randy Thompson & Craig Ball.
Legends Masters Division
| #H20 Darrell Buckingham –
Darrell is the 2007 Masters champ and was the man to beat in 2007,
we expect more of same in 2008. |
 |
#76 Tom Overholt – Tom had a
banner Year with a new car in 2007, he seems to get better with age
and is now fully recovered from his big accident. |
 |
| #39 Dave Nehring-
Dave is due for a breakout season he has the talent, the team, the car, 2008 could be the year. |
 |
#89 Grant MacDonald – Another fast or last racer, if his heads in it 2008 could
be his year to break out. There are a lot of Masters racers that could pull it
off this season. |
 |
| #78 Brian Mario -
BJ has
Williamson HP under the hood, he is a terrific driver, all he needs
is some racing luck to pull off another championship. BJ had a great
run in Vegas at US Nationals. |
 |
#90 Danny Meier - Danny took a year off but is always a front runner,
look for Danny to pick up right where he left off in 2008. |
 |
| #69 Jungle George – Only thing stopping
George is how hard he wants to push the gas
peddle, he will have tons of power and is really good at track like Medicine Hat
and Wetaskiwin. |
 |
#52 Ken McKinnon – Work needs to give him time to race
as when is at the track he runs really good. |
 |
| #31 Barry Mayer –
Barry is our kind of racer, one of Legends Best, needs a couple tenths
to contend for a win but he is one of the great guys at the track. |
 |
#26 Ernie Ludwig – Getting better all the time, has fresh motor, lots of desire
and will be going hard for his first win. |
