Players de Novo, now in its 5th consecutive year, won the 2010 Mayor's Award for Sustained Support for the Arts at the Mayor's Celebration of the Arts on 22 March at the Winspear Centre. To date, 5 not-for- profit local theatre companies and the Victoria School Foundation, have shared over $300,000 in proceeds raised from this annual event.
Players de Novo are proud to sponsor the 2010 Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Awards for Set Design and Costume Design at the Sterling Awards evening on 28 June at the Mayfield Dinner Theatre.

Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) is stationed in Edmonton and has a rich and proud history dating back to the Boer War, South Africa, in 1900 - 1901. The Regiment, founded by Donald Smith (Lord Strathcona and Mount Royal), had served our country as a Calvary unit in The South African "Boer" war and WWI.

As an Armoured Regiment they have served in WWII, Korea, Kosovo and presently in Afghanistan. They have regrettably lost a member in the war. The Regiment has three Victoria Cross recipients – the highest medal for bravery bestowed to individuals in The Commonwealth and 29 battle honours.
The mounted troop is a separate society that travels Alberta and Canada promoting The Regiment. The mounted members "Vadets" are all serving members of The Regiment. |
As a part of our sponsorship, The Press Gallery maintains the uniforms, horse blankets and pendants of Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) Mounted Troup.
