Spring 2006

Golf Course Opens in good Shape!

Considering the winter we had and lack of snow cover the course came through reasonably well. Some of the older greens on the East did have some poa damage but with the late April heat our superintendent feels damage will be minimal. We will not be re-sodding any complete greens this year like #7 east last year.

As I mentioned in earlier newsletters the fight with Poa is ongoing, I think you will agree the success with #7 is a perfect example of the direction we will be going with the greens.
Deep tinned aeration has just been completed on all courses, this type of aeration is crucial to the overall health of the greens.

Their will be some inconvenience for at least a week however with top dressing and rolling you should see little interruption. Weather will dictate the time taken for the course to repair.

Spring Tournament Schedule!

As play really does not get busy until the middle of May it affords the membership time to get out and golf with less traffic. Our big events the Cattlemen’s is on the 19th and 20th and the Mazakowski will follow on the 26th of the Month. We have numerous smaller corporate outings that begin this month so make sure you phone to book your tee-time in advance.

Live Tee-times

All members will have internet access to our live t-times through the web. If you are computer savvy this is a very simple process and allows you to book anywhere at any time. All you need is your access code, which is also your password. Please talk to the Pro-shop to get your personal code # for internet access on the Jencess system. They can also walk you through the process if you have any questions.

Computer handicap and RCGA Cards

We have received the RCGA handicap cards and are ready for you to pick up. They will be available in the office and will have to be signed out. The handicap card is good for playing in tournaments that need to verify your handicap. Please make sure you have your handicap verified and signed by one of our professionals before you use it at an event. The Jencess computer system is in the lounge and will be updated shortly, if you are a new member please make sure to tell the Golf Shop that you want to be added to the computer list.

New Nine Construction begins!

As of May 1st the construction crews will be starting on our new nine holes and subdivision. We will be updating the membership on the progress of the course over the summer. Most of it will be very visible from the South course and part of the East.

It is expected to take us about two years to complete the course that will match up to the south course as the back nine. When completed we will have a par 71 course that will play around 7300 yards from the tips.

Wolf Creek Village Closes out Investment packages!

We had a successful run of investors in our 150k package over the winter. Our objective was 25 units which we reached on April 30th. I would like to thank the membership for spreading the word and welcome on board our new Members that are the result of the Investment package.

Golf Shop

We are well underway now. The majority of our product is in so come in and take a look.

We have a very strong ladies section, led by Nike, Bette & Court and Antigua. We have two of our fitting carts here, Ping and Cleveland, and our third Callaway will be here soon. On Friday, May 19th, Callaway and Cleveland will have all their demo equipment on the south range between 10 and 5.

Also, Ecco shoes will also be having their product set up for you to look at. Ecco shoes are one of the most comfortable shoes you will ever put on. I would also like to mention that Brandon Regnier will be going for his pro card on May 17 and 18th at Alberta Springs. Good luck Brandon!

Jim Pringle Jr. got the first hole in one of the season on Saturday, April 29th on 3 west.

Congratulations Jim!
