Seeding and completion Stage in Full Swing!!!
Though we did not have much cooperation with the weatherman in the early part of the season we managed to make some strong headway in July. However our seeding seemed to coincide with cool August weather and unexpected winds that can rain havoc on newly seeded ground. The crew has been working long ours seed within this short window for the 2007 season. About 70% is now complete with only holes # 12, 13 and 14 left. We expect to have most of this cleaned up by the end of the month.

Villages on schedule to complete utilities this fall!!
The long awaited Fortis approval has now reached the end. West Central planning finally received word from Fortis that they will be progressing with the electrical plan. We are now pursuing registration of phase three and Title release of phase 1 and 2. If all goes well notification of Title release should happen sometime in late August or early September. Most of the fall will be dedicated to completion of phase 3 along with all the utilities and roadways. We expect construction to begin again sometime in September with most of the utilities trying to get in before freeze-up.

From the Golf Shop - Jae Stiles
We had a very successful 2007 Club Championship Tournament on Saturday, August 11th and Sunday August 12th. Congratulations to Jason Horsley for winning the Men’s division with a total score of 143 and to Joyce Carrington for winning the Ladies division with a total score of 179. Jason will be playing in the 2008 Taylor Made Championship with Jay Anderson and Joyce will be playing the 2008 PGA of Alberta Pro-Lady with one of our Professional staff. Thank you to everyone who participated and to Brandon who ran a first class event. We would like your feedback on the Club Championship so please email me any ideas or comments to jae@wolfcreekgolf.com.
We only have a couple months of golf left but we are still bringing in new products to keep our shop looking new fresh. President Cup logoed, Tehama Men’s Polo shirts are now available well as men’s Etonic STGT Gore-Tex golf shoes. Our demo clubs are now for sale and the crew is ready to wheel and deal with all the other products in the shop. I understand it is still a long time away but it is never too early to do Christmas shopping for that golfer on your list. Some ideas could be our signature Wolf Creek gear sweatshirts, great for the cold Alberta winters, $66 for one or two for $100. We also match prices with Golf Town for all our hard goods and golf balls and have a great selection of stocking stuffers.
With the summer coming to an end we once again have to say good-bye a few of the staff members as they head back to school. Surprising the U of C is letting Andrew back for another year so he will be leaving us in early September. Erica will also be heading off to Red Deer College in late August. They will be missed but I am sure they will back for the wind-up in the middle of October. Finally don’t forget to wish Chris good luck as he and his MUCH BETTER half Jocelyn will be getting married on Saturday, August 18th.
