Tunnel crossing complete
The tunnel crossing from the South nine to the new course under #604 is now complete. Our project was scheduled for 12 days but with good weather we completed everything within 8. Access is now ready for crossing to the back nine once we open up the new golf course. The design of the tunnel came out better than we expected as it damaged very little in the original surrounding area and allowed us to make a smooth crossing from one nine to another. When you play the south nine you will get a good feeling on where you have to go to start your back nine. |

Water Reservoir and Pump Station now being completed!!
Work has started on our Transfer water station from the regional water line to all the lots. This station is government regulated and requires all sorts of engineering hoops. The first portion contains the underground reservoir that will be the supply storage for potable water. The reservoir will b e buried into a hill and have a small transfer station above to house the pumps and electrical. We also felt since t he access to water and sewer is readily available washrooms would be added for the golfers going from #14 to #15. The expected completion date for this should be in summer pending approvals from the government as always. |

Final Seeding Complete!!!
The last three holes have now been seeded, most work now will entail the maturation period. Along with this we will go back and repair washouts and area's that may lose seed do to wind. Any steep bank areas and bunkers we will probably hydro seed, depending on the severity of the ground. This form of seeding requires special equipment that is sprayed with a mulch, it is kind of like gluing the seed to a wall; it does not wash out as easy and helps establish grass on high bunker walls. Our Golf Architect Rod Whitman has been around for the last two weeks overseeing the crew with the final preparations. Most of his time is spent making last minute adjustments to the green complexes. The maturation period will take up most of the summer, with any luck we may have a soft opening early in the fall. |

From the Golf Shop
We are into the swing of things now, I hope most of the unpleasant weather is behind us and we can move on to a beautiful summer of golf. Mr. Anderson and his Assistants have the Golfshop looking fantastic. We have a great selection of Demo Drivers with PING, Taylor Made, Callaway, along with hybrids and irons. Once again we have one of the largest delivery of Oakley clothing and eye wear in Central Alberta, the selection of clothing has never been better and we have something for everyone!
Two of our members qualifying for the 2008 Alberta Open in Carmoney G&CC on June 10th and 11th. Mr. Kurtis Baehl and Tim Boston will be taking on some of the best players in Alberta. Good luck gentlemen!
We have had a couple people ask about our mid summer Member-Guest and whether we will be hosting it again. It will be held on Sunday July 20th with a 1:00pm shotgun. The format will be the same as last year with registration and pricing information to be emailed out in the near future.
