Sandhill VQA Wine
Feature
The
Sandhill Estate Vineyard was home to their very first wines back in 1997. The
land it rests on was originally leased from the Burrowing Owl Estate Winery,
until they purchased 174 acres in 2002. Now bearing the Sandhill name, this
vineyard remains the source of inspiration behind their commitment to making
world-class, single-vineyard wines.
It is on this land, after all, where nearly 85% of the grapes used to make
Sandhill wines are grown. And it is here where the collaboration between
winemaker, Howard Soon, and vineyard managers, Robert Goltz and Richard Cleave,
continues to yield superior wine, vintage after vintage.
Located in the South Okanagan, near Oliver, BC, the vineyard regularly registers
temperatures near 40ēC and gets more sunshine than Napa Valley. As for the soil,
it's made up almost entirely of sand, which provides exceptional drainage and
forces the plants to grow deep roots in search of water. What's more, individual
plant yields are controlled by cutting immature fruit from the vines. The result
is small, fully ripe grapes with concentrated flavours and a truly distinct
character.
Enjoy the
Cabernet Merlot or the
Pinot Gris
until December 31.

Small
Business Christmas Parties
The Sawmill Group has an easy and efficient way to organize your company
Christmas Party.
Small Business Parties save your time in finding a venue, planning a menu,
booking entertainment and decorating. It also ensures that everyone in
attendance has a relaxing evening while we take care of all the details.
Our Prime Rib & Seafood Buffet offers a myriad of choices for your guests; the
desserts are delicious and our Chocolate Fountain is a crowd favorite.
The energy, ambience and prestige of a large party also means that guests can
enjoy some of Edmonton’s most popular dance bands. We choose bands that play a
wide range of styles so varied age groups will all take a spin on our huge dance
floor.
Our Banquet & Catering Centre accommodates up to 500 guests so your group, large
or small, can comprise a part of the room. Tables of eight are reserved in your
company name so that your employees can visit and mingle among themselves.
Many companies pre-purchase bottles of wine for the table and provide a number
of liquor tickets for their guests. You may also choose to subsidize the cost of
drinks by purchasing tickets and reselling at a reduced price to your employees.
